Due to increased security of Federal Buildings, you will need to be escorted into the building, unless you are a federal employee of another agency. 1. What is the club about?Learning about leadership and improving in public speaking.
2. Why should I join the club? To feel more comfortable making presentations, as well as speaking extemporaneously.
3. Where and when does the club meet?Each Tuesday at noon in room 7149 of the HUD HQ building.
4. Can I visit a meeting? Sure! The more, the merrier.
5. How much does it cost to join? There is an initial $20 new member fee that purchases your membership kit and the club has a $1.00 monthly fee. Toastmasters International fee is just $27 gives you a six month membership. Total 6 month cost: $33.00 after paying for new member kit.
6. How often do I have to give speeches? As often as you would like. Most folks try to do 1 a month.
7. What do my speeches have to be about? You can choose your own topic. No required topics.
8. Who will I meet at club meetings? Other successful professionals and even interns who are interested in the common goal in improving their communication skills.
9. How long do meetings last? One hour
10. Will I have fun? You bet!
